Most driveway problems start under the concrete. Heavy rain and summer heat are hard on a slab poured on a base that wasn't prepared right: it settles, heaves, and cracks. We cut to grade, compact the base, reinforce the slab, slope it so water runs off, and cut control joints at the right spacing so any cracking happens at the joints instead of across the middle.
